Proper Food Combining

Eating the proper foods in the proper phases.

The Elixir MRE diet is a simple one. It does not consist of a fixed menu; the Elixir MRE diet consists of eating the fixed food combinations at the proper times. Eating the inappropriate combinations of food causes unnecessary weight gain.

In order to fuel your body properly, you must first understand how it works. The body's digestive process operates in three basic phases, each lasting approximately eight hours. Eating in contradiction to a phase works against your body and your fitness goals.

Below is a brief summary of the three phases:

Appropriation phase: The consumption of properly combined foods – Stars at 4 AM lasts until 12 noon

Assimilation phase: The absorption of nutrient in the body – Starts at 12 Noon lasts until 8PM

Elimination phase: The removal of waste from the body – Starts at 8 PM lasts until 4AM

The human body may only perform one phase at a time. It is incapable of assimilating nutrient while appropriating it.

The human body cannot assimilate nutrients from complex carbohydrates while eliminating waste in the morning elimination phase. In the morning, it is best to consume only fruit and fruit juices, these are digested in the small intestine, act as cleansers in your body and do not disrupt the elimination phase. Elixir MRE organic raw vegan meal can be eaten during this phase of the day.

Coffee is also an option during the elimination phase. Use almond milk instead of creamer. Almond is alkalizing and will balance the acidity of the coffee. While coffee offers almost no nutritional benefit, it does provide a quick pick-up.

During the appropriation phase, to combine your foods properly, do the following:

- Do not combine flesh of any kind (including eggs, cheese, dairy of all kinds) with a starchy complex      carbohydrate, these include (potato, rice, beans, pasta, yam, bread, etc.)

- Do not combine complex carbohydrates with cows’ milk or dairy products (breakfast cereal)

- Do not eat while consuming coffee or alcohol. This will disrupt the digestive process. Separate this consumption from food consumption by 30 minutes.

The assimilation phase is unique. In this phase of the digestive process, you may drink water, but you may not eat. This phase, for most of us, will take place at night while we sleep.

When you eat on the wheel (around the clock), you will find that it is difficult at first because you have to re-think all of your food choices. As you apply these principles you will begin to feel healthier.

There can be no nutrition in any food that is in a box or a can. You cannot get nutrient from a pasteurized can or from a box. Overly processed "enriched" foods are wasted, toxic calories.

RAW FOOD

Raw food is powerful because it's filled with enzymes. Scientists are learning how enzymes are crucial to the healing process. Enzymes are the biochemical foundation for thousands of digestive and metabolic functions in the body. (For more information on enzymes see the Know your Body page).

Studies show that eating is a high percentage of cooked food causes the pancreas to enlarge. A pancreas that is enlarged as a result of over stimulation begins to break down. After years of abuse, the pancreas secretes fewer enzymes and causes problems such as bloating, gas, diarrhea, gastritis, or diabetes.

AGING

Proper diet combined, regular exercise along with the proper amount of rest may actually add years to the life span. Results from a number of studies indicate that speed and muscular strength of many of the elderly can be extended.
