As a young child Tom Gianelli developed the skin condition, vitaligo. Vitiligo is the white  patches  on a persons skin.  In his youth Tom was ashamed of the condition.  His  embarrassment drove him inward to study, and to excel in athletics. When he began receiving treatment for the vitiligo the medication was hard on his liver and he was unable to be outdoors in the sun for long periods of time so his mother discontinued the treatment.

It was then that Tom inquired about the source of the medicine. The Doctor told him that it was mostly derived from Celery juice.  This started the process that became an obsession for Tom to learn about plants and herbs used in pharmaceuticals.

He was able to use neam leaf and celery juice to successfully treat his vitiligo. It was the foundation for the business he would develop in his adult life.

A proud product of public schools, Tom worked his way through college attending junior college, a quarter at UCLA and later finishing at California State University Northridge. With the intension of becoming a doctor he took a job in a physicians office. Tom began to question the methodologies of Western Medicine. As he worked closely with sports medicine doctors, general physicians, and chiropractors Tom developed the belief that traditional medicine focuses on the treatment of the symptoms and not the cause of chronic disease.  Tom began to believe that the best medicine was preventative. He gave up his desire to study medicine and returned to the study of plants and herbs.

With no money to invest in his business and no venture capital some tough decisions had to be made. To save money he moved into a 10X10 storage unit took odd jobs while perusing a career in the Motion picture business. Tom became a union member of Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). While working as a stuntman, Tom continued to build his company.

Still living in the storage unit he researched his product and saved the money to found his company. Tom developed his first product Elixir MRE and brought it to market. On a whim Tom decided to pitch his product to the general manager working at the legendary Gold’s Gym in Venice California. He won the account and from then on Elixir MRE and Mookie Cookies became the product of choice among the many champion athletes at the legendary Gold’s Gym in Venice, California.

Always an extreme sports enthusiast Tom began Free-climbing. Free-climbing is the extreme practice of climbing without ropes or safety gear. While climbing with friends, he fell badly injuring his back. No longer working in the motion picture business he found himself without medical insurance, unable to walk, alone with a mortgage and no way to make an income. In a wheel chair for months he labored to save his company and his home. He gained weight, became depressed, and was unable to exercise. Tom wanted to reduce his weight and purge his body of toxic pain medications. He began detoxifying his body and began a strict raw vegan diet. Tom regained his health, lost 28 pounds, was again able to walk, run and yes free-climb.

Tom has labored at a grass roots level, and dedicated his career to representing the Naturalist Medicine approach and the teaching the methodology of preventative medicine. He has aimed to help families and children just like the families he grew up with in Thousand Oaks. He has been able to educate his clients to treat themselves and restore their health. His passionate advocacy for people that have been disenfranchised by the medical industry and turned away by the powerful insurance companies has earned him respect and recognition across the country. A humanitarian activist dedicated to feeding the homeless and less fortunate, a compassionate businessman, he has established a foundation to assist those in need.

A strong advocate for the American worker and American goods, Tom has insisted that only Americans manufacture his product, Elixir MRE opposing any suggestion that he move manufacturing off shore to China or to Mexico.

Tom is committed to promoting a win-win relationship between employer and employee. Taking the message of preventative medicine to corporations to promote health for their workers.  He believes that a healthy employee works harder, misses fewer days due to illness and is less expensive to insure both during their employment and on into retirement. This alone will save companies millions easing the burden of entitlements.

Tom has quickly emerged as a champion for the health issues that make a difference to American families: arguing for regulation of the Food Industry, while arguing against the control over nutritional supplements by the 1994 DSHEA laws, the Safety Act S.722 in 2003 and the Dietary Supplement Full Implementation and Enforcement Act of 2010. These laws protect Big-Parma and the medical industry.  Total implementation of these laws would require citizens to receive a doctor’s prescription for raw whole super foods.

Through his seminars on health and wellness he has created an information hub Elixirmre.com to enable, educate, and empower Americans everywhere to regain their health utilizing simple methods of detoxification, diet, the use of super foods and vegan transformable foods.
